Ackeejuice è il nome del progetto musicale che dal 2007 porta in modo convincente
l’electro hip hop, la dancehall il 2 step e Uk Garage nei migliori club d’Italia. Un progetto
creato da King P ed Ali Selecta, due giovani e promettenti dj italiani con alle spalle un’esperienza decennale. La miscela creata dai suoni caldi della black music e quelli più sintetici dell’elettronica è il punto di partenza dal quale il duo veneto ha saputo attingere. Ritmi incalzanti e bpm sostenuti si interrompono improvvisamente per lasciare spazio a segmenti dubstep e crunk senza mai compromettere l’hipe. La formazione di King P risale agli anni ’90, all’hip hop oldschool, allo scratch, le crew e le battle. Negli anni successivi, più precisamente dal 2002 al 2006 intraprende un progetto
reggae King P Sound, che lo porterà ad esibirsi in compagnia dei maggiori esponenti della scena reggae italiana ed internazionale. All’attivo ha 4 mix cd, l’ultimo dei quali in compagnia di Esa a.k.a. El Prez che con Ackeejuice ha già collaborato più volte. Ali Selecta decide di mettere in pratica la sua cultura musicale nei primi anni del 2000, proponendosi come selecter nei localini jazz. Propone soul, suona artisti europei di nicchia, esplora sonorità difficili ma magnetiche, la sua versatilità nei set e la ricerca costante lo proiettano sempre di più verso il club. Dal soul si sposta all’hip hop, i bpm accelerano e i beat si fanno sempre più sincopati. Rivolto ad un vasto pubblico, diverso per gusto e genere, Ackeejuice rappresenta anche la parte musicale del festival internazionale di arte contemporanea e street art, Infart. Ha all’attivo numerose esibizioni con artisti internazionali, dagli mcs dell’hip hop italiano come Marracash e Club Dogo a djs come Spiller, Congorock, Color, Mstrkrft, Guns’n’Bombs, Pink Is Punk, Punks Jump Up, CyberPunkers, Nt89, 2 Guys In Venice, Blatta & Inesha. Numerose nel corso di questi tre anni sono state le collaborazioni con artisti della scena reggae/dancehall europea e jamaicana, per citarne alcuni: Supersonic Sound, City Lock, Soundquake, General Levy, Zion Cuts, Northern Light.

Ackee juice is the name of the Project born in 2007, that brings in a very proud way, the best mix of electro hip hop, dancehall and UK Garage in all the best clubs of Italy. This project came from the brilliant minds of dj Ali Selecta and dj King P, two young and promising
Italian djs with more than 10 years of experience in the scene. The mix created by warm sounds of hip hop music and synthetic sounds of electro is the starting point from where Ackee Juice got inspired. Cracking pace and high bpms are broken off by dubstep and crunk segments without compromising the hipe. King P background comes from the 90’s hip hop scene, and its scratch, its crews and battles. From 2002 to 2006 he is into his own reggae project called ‘King P Sound’, that will bring him to stages with some of the major exponents of the Italian and European reggae scene. He already has 4 mix cds distributed in the Italian territory, one of those produced with Esa a.k.a. El Prez, who, has lately collaborated with Ackee Juice as well. Ali Selecta decided to start his experience into music world in 2007, proposing him self as dj in jazz pubs of the area. His sessions were about soul, playing European niche artists, exploring difficult sounds but definitely magnetic. His versatility in his session and his constant research brought him to play
in the best clubs of the north-east of Italy. From soul to hip hop, the bpms started to ease in with more an more sycophantic beats.
Directed to a various public, for tastes and genres, Ackee Juice represented the music flavour of the international festival of art and street style called Infart. (www.infartcollective.com). They collaborated and played with djs, international recongnised, like mcs of Italian hip hop (Marracash, Club Dogo) and djs such as Spiller, Congorock, Color, Mstrkrft, Guns’n’Bombs, Pink Is Pink, Punks Jump Up,
CyberPunkers, Nt89, 2 Guys In Venice, Blatta & Inesha. Other Ackeejuice reggae collabo are: with Supersonic Sound, City Lock, Soundquake, General Levy, Zion Cuts, Northern Light.
